First time that this formation had ever been attempted, either in practice or in front of the public. “Doc”& B-2, compadres of the 509th’s heritage, with the emotion stirring pass at Wings over Whiteman 24’. I had no intention of slowing my shutter speed as the big props on the B-29 required more than this old guy could handle.

Woah. That’s amazing. So was it planned or just a spur of the moment thing?
The day before the show the Wing Commander said there would be a ‘surprise’ for the airshow that was not on the schedule. So without any practice they did this formation both days of the show for the first time!
