Many of are here due to nostalgia and fondness for the original Fence Check, 20 years ago. Unfortunately, some members from the original site are no longer with us to enjoy the new one. Let’s take a moment to think of them.
Most recently, Shawn Yost (Ghostrider) lost his battle with cancer earlier this week.
I also saw a post that Jim Mumaw passed away earlier this year. I know people held a range of opinions about Jim, but he definitely added color to things.
Who else have we lost?
I didn’t know about Shawn. Dang.
There are only a couple of people I regularly kept in touch with over the years. One of them was Jim. I miss his posts from the Lancaster area, Mojave, Edwards, Nellis.
Sad to hear about Shawn, he was a great guy, always smiling and positive, part of the big US airshow group that Liza organised on the old FC.
Jim was also a nice guy, saw him at Nellis once and he just came across as enthusiastic.
Thankfully I don’t know of anyone else from the old Fence Check days who has died, but lost a few friends outside of that in recent years, notably Jim Kippen, Paul Ridgway and Don Logan
