Vulcan air-to-air

An incredible photo flight with the Vulcan lasting around 40 minutes in August 2015, its last flying year, on its way to the Eastbourne airshow.

Woah, amazing Chris. Do you know what was being tested in the second shot?

Oh I guess these were in flight refueling tests?

Great stuff Chris, hope your Dad is well!

Yeah. Different shots of the same jet, the first flights of the Vulcan K.2 with the centreline refuelling pod. I think the other shot is from a Victor refuelling a Vulcan.

Interesting, do you know which year they’re from?

Pretty sure they were converted in 1982 as the RAF urgently needed more tankers due to the Falklands Conflict.
