I often refer to RAF Coningsby as my “local base” as I go there several times per year. the reality is, it’s still about a 2 and half hour drive from my home. its a very busy base and home to the UK,s frontline fighters the Eurofighter Typhoon. coningsby is 1 of only 2 QRA stations in the UK.it also has the world famous BBMF (Battle of Britain memorial flight) on site, home to several airworthy spitfires, hurricanes, Dakota and 1 of only 2 airworthy Lancaster bombers.

Typhoon squadrons based at RAF Coningsby are 12 squadron,11 (f) squadron,41 test and evaluation squadron,3 (f) squadron and 29 OCU squadron .

This is 3 squadron jet.
