On no! And so it begins (again)

Well, vacation bonus came in and I’ve treated myself to a new camera body. Not full frame, it’s an R7 (@skippyscage will tell me I made a mistake) but I couldn’t spend that amount on a camera. R6 second hand I find to expensive for the tech and the MKII is just too expensive, period.

I’m just glad I have a camera and now I have to keep myself in check regarding the glass…

Fantastic new Roger. Now go out and get it used.

BTW, it’s not about the equipment, it’s about creating memories and having fun.

So one of my conclusions of my first weekend outing is that the 800mm end of the Canon RF 200-800 is too much for me (and the R7). Maybe with more practice I can get more out of it, but I think keeping it at 600mm max makes the images look way better and gives me more room to take an actual frame filling shot. Next time I’ll rent the 100-500, which I’ve used before and liked a lot. It was on a full frame camera though, so we’ll see how it behaves on a crop sensor.
