A few MiG-21 conversions from Romania where the type was known as LanceR, before the aircraft withdrawn from service in May 2023.

1/1/09. When. KSDM had its own MiG. Still amazed it never became part of a smoking hole in the ground due to pilot arrogance/error. Last I heard it was in Arizona somewhere…

Now I want to know more about this pilot’s antics…

On one occasion he took off without securing the canopy. The clamshell style popped open as he rotated and instead of flying the airplane he tried to secure it. Main gear took out a runway light and he just missed the perimeter fence. Woke up the folks in the junkyard to the west of the runway. He tried to sell his services to the Navy as an opfor…but other than being able to fly the a/c had no fighter experience. (He was a retired airline pilot…unknown on his military flight experience.). He was turned down and made an issue out of it to anyone who would listen.

Sounds like speedbump with a plane.
