Heading to the spottersday… I guess I’m not the only one…

Well, that was a great day! Wonderfull organization bij GRAS, amazing access and an old school variety of visitors to today’s spottersday at Gilze-Rijen Air Base. I still need to go through all my images and edit them, so it will be a slow trickle of images again. Here’s one of the high-lights, the German CH-53, in a special paint job.

Light was a challenge. Big blue skies, big white fluffy clouds, big rain showers, no sun, birght sun. Never a dull moment

And the home team can’t be left out of course. Plenty of Chinook action throughout the day…

It was like the good old days. Lots of flying, great variety, good access, low key and not too busy. Perfect for an old dude like me

AWACS anyone? Like I said, it was like the good old days, so many different planes visiting.

The E3 was a local where I grew up in the 80’s, flying from nearby Geilenkirchen. Good times.
