Gear - Canon

Yes it’s terrible, Canon rushed it out.

You have to use 1st curtain electronic as it has bad rolling shutter as the sensor is slow.

It also suffers from shutter shock - the IBIS is shaken by the mechanical shutter and you can’t even turn IBIS off.

DSLR days I was getting maybe low 90s % keeper rate. D7 it was more like maybe 50%. It’s like I didn’t know how to shoot or something. Even static shooting. One shot looks in focus but then compare it with a 2nd and it’s slightly fuzzy.

Props at 1/160th? Forget that, very low keepers. 1/200th seems to work the best.

I’ve had the R5ii since release and I’m back to high 90s % keepers and electronic shutter is good as the sensor is stacked and fast.

Basically avoid the R7 at all costs. I’ve suffered this camera for 2 years and glad I don’t need to anymore.

Other bodies are also fine I think, but I have zero real world experience with any others in the line.
