I shot these California ANG 106s at Fresno (KFAT) back in 1981. Would be great to see the squadron use this scheme on one of their F15s.

Talked to the pilot of this 106 at the 87’ Norton show and he said he’d be leaving early Monday morning. Got on the base near the old golf course on the perimeter road and took this, probably my favorite Six picture ever!

I only ever saw one live F-106, from a distance taking off from Davis-Monthan in 1987, I think it was a Montana ANG alert jet. I did get to Tyndall while they still flew QF-106s though, wish I’d been able to see more but as I started going to the States they were reaching the end, with long lines in AMARC.
