So today my son and I visited the crash site of a Mosquito. It was damaged by flak and shot down by BF-109’s. It crashed into the mountains here in Norway, killing both pilot and navigator. They had just bombed enemy merchant vessels.

What was surprising: there was still some wood in the crash debris, after all these years.
