Seen here is A-10A+, PA, 111TH FW / 103FS, 80-0230 sitting on the ANG ramp at the Willow Grove ARS on September 24, 2008 after recently returning from a overseas deployment to Afghanistan. She’s wearing mission marks from her “OEF” deployment.

Thanks Darren. I spent 17 1/2 years on her as a Weapons Loader.
Lookin’ good!
A-10A 77-0205 from the 706thTFS at New Orleans shot in 1994 at the Eglin armament museum. “Chopper Popper” is famous for shooting down an Iraqi BO-105 with its 30mm cannon during Desert Storm, flown by Capt Bob Swain.
A little faded but still in its original paint, it was moved to the AF Academy in Colorado and is on a pole with new paint but thankfully these original markings have been faithfully recreated.
Didn’t know that was the reason for this McGyver retrofit. Somehow it looks really good on a Hog.
Now that the aircraft is on the way out, someone comes up with this idea. The 442nd will be transitioning to the F-15E during 2027-28 as their A-10’s are retired. The Strikes will come from Lankenheath.
