Bruntingthorpe used to be the home of several classic airframes that performed engine runs and fast taxi runs. Sadly the fast taxi runs no longer happen and most of the airframes have found new homes. I only ever attended 1 event and it turned out to be its final event. I took this photo of the English Electric Lightning just before it lit its engines for its taxi run. Its not my best photo but it always been one of my favourites

What a machine… crazy configuration of engines, missiles on top of the wings, side by side cockpit for the family model… must be one hell of a ride.
